Journal of the Association of Heritage Interpretation: Empathy
Charmaine Wong · 1st June 2016
The Journal of the Association for Heritage Interpretation’s Summer 2016 issue is hot off the press with Eric Langham as Commissioning Editor.
This edition explores the challenging theme of Empathy in interpretation, facilitating discourse and capturing the diversity of approach to empathy across the museum sector. It poses some key questions:
“Is it about understanding visitors’ perspectives and feelings? Or creating moments that resonate with our audiences and inspire people to act? Can institutions be empathetic? And is empathy always a good thing?”
This is the first of six bi-annual editions of the journal that will see Eric at the editorial helm. The next edition, due for Autumn 2017, will be ‘impossible’.
