Saruq Al-Hadid Archaeology Museum Opens in Dubai
1st July 2016
We’re pleased to announce the opening of the Saruq Al-Hadid Archaeology Museum in Dubai, inaugurated by HH SHeikh Mohammad bin Rashid Al Maktoum.
This exciting new cultural destination in Dubai’s historic Shindagha district uses state of the art technology, immersive experiences and interactive installations, to tell the story of one of the most mysterious archaeological sites yet discovered in the Emirate. The site is Saruq Al-Hadid – ‘the Way of Iron’ – a remote desert location that became a centre for metalworking on an industrial scale over three thousand years ago.
The museum gives visitors an exciting opportunity to explore the finds from the excavations at Saruq Al-Hadid, understand the latest theories and discover the stories behind the beautiful and intriguing artefacts.
Barker Langham worked with designers Action Impact to develop the museum's creative and strategic direction. We also curated the collection and content, providing interpretation for the exhibitions.
This work culminated in a dramatic and involving experience for visitors of all ages, bringing the story of the desert archaeological site alive.
