Success for Newark Castle's HLF funding application

We are delighted to hear that Newark Castle has been awarded an £84,000 grant from the Heritage Lottery Fund to redevelop their 900-year-old gatehouse. The project aims to restore the gatehouse and open it up to the public for the first time. A new visitor attraction will reveal the Castle's fascinating history, from the Normans to King John to the Civil War.
Barker Langham been working with the Castle for a number of years, supporting their funding bid and developing a temporary exhibition, "King John: The Road to Newark Castle", which opened last spring to commemorate the 800th anniversary of King John's death at the Castle. We can't wait for the next chapter in Newark Castle's story.
