The doors of Qasr al Muwaiji open once again

Qasr Al Muwaiji – the birthplace of HH Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the United Arab Emirates – was inaugurated in an inspiring ceremony on Sunday. Attended by leading figures from across Emirati society, the opening marked the culmination of a major redevelopment of the fort.
Barker Langham has worked on every stage of this redevelopment, curating a striking exhibition celebrating the century-long history of the fort and the achievements of HH Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed. We also led the interpretation of the historic spaces of the fort, using subtle projections and soundscapes to evoke an authentic atmosphere.
The opening of this prestigious museum has attracted media interest across the Gulf, and it’s our aspiration that Qasr Al Muwaiji will act as an exemplar for future developments in the region.
