Tribute to UAE founder opens
22nd April 2018
The Founder’s Memorial in Abu Dhabi officially opened to the public on 22 April 2018. The memorial is a new permanent national tribute that commemorates the life and legacy of Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, the founding president of the United Arab Emirates.
Barker Langham have been working with the Salama Foundation to develop the visitor experience for The Founder’s Memorial, which focuses on telling a personal story of Sheikh Zayed. We worked on many interpretive elements for the project, including a large-scale media wall featuring beautifully rendered film installations, interpretive signage throughout the memorial’s landscape and buildings, an exhibition of artefacts created in celebration of Sheikh Zayed, and more.
Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid called the memorial: “An important message that links future generations to the memory of the leader who laid the foundations of the nation”.
The Founder’s Memorial is open daily and entry is free. Visit The Founder's Memorial website for more information.
