Hope for Broomhill Lido
Broomhill Pool, a Grade II listed lido built in 1938, has been closed to the public since 2002. The ambition to restore Broomhill Pool and bring it back into public use has been ongoing for more than a decade. Fusion Lifestyle took on the challenge to redevelop and restore the site, making it viable through the addition of a new build leisure facility, through the support of an HLF Heritage Enterprise Grant.
We were involved in the project in the early stages, developing a Viability Appraisal for HLF grant application, which included an options appraisal assessment for the future restoration and redevelopment of the site. We worked with a local valuer, to calculate the Conservation Deficit and the project QS to develop robust costings for the supporting project activities. Following a successful First Round award in September 2015, we continued to work on the project, producing the project Activity Statement based on consultations with community partners and stakeholders, and developed an Economic Impact Assessment to demonstrate the project’s wider economic benefits.
The outcome for the Second Round Heritage Enterprise Grant application was successful in winning £3.4 million in grant funding.
