BLINK - The End is in Sight

On average a person blinks 900 times an hour – imagine if each one was agony. This is the case for those suffering with trachoma, a disease that the charity Sightsavers is working to eliminate by 2025. BLINK is a photographic exhibition taking place from 9–13 October at London’s Oxo Tower, in support of Sightsavers trachoma campaign ‘The End is in Sight’, which is raising funds for the straightforward operation that can treat the advance stages of the disease.

Featuring works from award winning photographers including Nick Knight, the late David Goldblatt, Kate Holt, Georgina Cranston and Tommy Trenchard, the exhibition was created by experiential designers MET Studio and curated by leading cultural practice Barker Langham. Their works will be shown using innovative technology that counts the blinks of the viewers of each photograph. As more blinks accumulate each photograph degrades pixel by pixel until they no longer exist.
