Manchester Archives+
Accessing Manchester's archives under one historic roof
The Grade 2*-listed Manchester Central Library required significant investment to safeguard the building and create a library and archive service fit for the 21st century.
As part of this, Barker Langham developed the initial concept and business plan for a new exhibition where people will access all of Manchester's most important archives, Archives+. This business plan, and our mentorship of the client team throughout the development of the Second Round application process, contributed towards a successful HLF bid.
The Library re-opened in March 2014 and attracted over 300,000 visitors in the first three months of opening.
