Japan House London

Strategic Partner for innovative new London cultural centre

  • Government of Japan, Ministry of Foreign Affairs
  • London, United Kingdom
  • From 2017

Opened in 2018, Japan House London is one of three international cultural centres created by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs showcasing Japan’s economic, cultural and technological contributions to the building of a better world in the 21st Century. This unique partnership between government and Japan’s private sector aims to create a lasting legacy of engagement between the UK and Japan at individual, company and institutional levels.

As Strategic Recruitment Partner (SRP), we devised and delivered recruitment campaigns for all key positions, supported the creation of volunteer programs and proposed a best-practice HR policy including “Attracting, Engaging, Rewarding and Managing” staff. We also assisted with the pre-opening training program for staff and third-party partners, including front of house, restaurant and retail operations.

Following JHL’s extremely successful opening year, including its inauguration by HRH Prince William, we have continued to support its visionary transition in governance structure and operational delivery models. This has included benchmarking JHL thoroughly within the local market context alongside its comparators, collaborators and competitors, enabling it to think carefully about recognising and rewarding staff contribution to its success so far, as well as motivating them to be a part of future success in line with emerging business objectives.
