The Story of Abu Dhabi & Its People

The Story of Abu Dhabi & its People tells the story of a city and the Emirati people and its inextricable link to Qasr al Hosn – the first permanent building on the island, the Ruler’s Palace, a witness to the island’s origins and evolution, and a powerful symbol of the ever developing Abu Dhabi.

Working with the experience designers, People Creative, and co-curating with the National Archives, we developed a truly narrative experience. Through artefact display, immersive environments, soundscapes, oral history, archival installations and an interactive model, visitors trace 250 years of the city’s story..An audio tour, providing a different layer of interpretation to encourage repeat visits is also being developed.

Opening as part of the Abu Dhabi’s fourth annual Qasr Al Hosn Festival, we delivered the exhibition in 6 weeks. The Story of Abu Dhabi & its People will be on display at Qasr Al Hosn’s Cultural Foundation Building for the next year.
